9666966-45011 Job Description Make a meaningful difference by supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, working with K-4th grade children in a welcoming school community. This contract role involves providing specialized services, totaling 180 minutes per month, designed to foster language development and academic growth for young learners. Desired Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Experience or training in educational settings with students from kindergarten through fourth grade Strong understanding of audiological issues, assistive technology, and instructional strategies for children with hearing loss Excellent communication skills for collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and families Ability to develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) and adapt curriculum to each childs needs
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct and consultative services in accordance with each students IEP Utilize evidence-based strategies to promote academic achievement and language access Provide input for IEP development and updates, and monitor progress Collaborate with general education teachers and related service staff to maximize inclusion Support parents and caregivers with strategies to reinforce learning at home Foster a welcoming environment that empowers students and encourages self-advocacy This flexible contract opportunity allows you to make a measurable impact in a supportive elementary setting, while maintaining balance with other commitments.
