Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, supporting a dedicated K-2 self-contained classroom focused primarily on second-grade students. In this contract role near Mentor, OH, you will make a meaningful difference for young learners with diverse needs, many of whom are nonverbal and require creative, compassionate instruction.

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (required) Valid teaching license with Special Education endorsement applicable to K-2 students Experience working with students with significant cognitive disabilities, including nonverbal communication needs Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and specialized instruction Effective communication and collaboration skills with families, paraprofessionals, and support staff Patience, empathy, creativity, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment

Responsibilities:
