Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a vibrant educational setting where your expertise as a Special Education Teacher will make a real difference in the lives of young learners. This full-time, contract position is ideal for educators passionate about supporting K-2 students, primarily 2nd graders, in a self-contained classroom. You'll play a vital role in shaping the educational experience for students with multiple disabilities, including several nonverbal children.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
Current teaching license or eligibility for certification in Special Education Previous experience with K-2 students, particularly those with moderate to severe disabilities Familiarity with individualized education plan (IEP) development and implementation Strong communication skills, especially when working with nonverbal students using AAC devices or alternative methods Patience, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset for working with paraprofessionals and related service providers
Key Responsibilities:
