Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Exciting opportunity for a passionate Special Education Teacher to support students remotely in Oregon! This full-time, contract-based position allows you to make a meaningful difference from the comfort of your own workspace while managing a caseload of 35 students as a lead case manager.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Active Special Education Teacher certification in Oregon Previous experience as a Special Education teacher, preferably in a case management role Strong understanding of IEP development and compliance Ability to effectively communicate with students, families, and fellow staff members in a virtual environment Excellent organizational skills to manage caseload timelines, documentation, and meetings Tech-savvy, with experience using online learning and communication platforms
Core Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of 35 students as lead case manager, supporting all areas of special education needs Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal requirements Coordinate and schedule IEP meetings, collaborating with families and interdisciplinary teams Ensure all evaluations, reevaluations, and progress monitoring are conducted within required timelines Maintain detailed, accurate, and confidential student records and documentation Communicate regularly with families to provide updates on student progress and address concerns Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging virtual learning environment Enjoy the benefits of working remotely while making a significant impact on the lives of students with diverse learning needs.
