Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make an impact in the lives of high school students by supporting their academic growth in a resource and co-teaching classroom setting. This contract opportunity focuses on Science and Mathematics instruction, helping students achieve their individual education goals each day. The position offers regular school hours, allowing you to work from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, fostering a healthy work-life balance.
Qualifications:
Current Pennsylvania Special Education Endorsement is required Experience with high school-aged students, particularly in Science or Mathematics, is highly desirable Strong proficiency in writing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Enthusiasm for collaboration with general education teachers in a co-teaching environment Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and families
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver targeted instruction in both resource and co-teaching classroom settings, adapting materials as needed Develop, write, and monitor IEPs to ensure student progress and compliance Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify curriculum and foster inclusive educational opportunities Engage with families and support professionals to promote a positive, supportive classroom climate Track and report on student outcomes and progress Maintain organized and accurate documentation in line with district and state requirements
