The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. This role involves overseeing classroom activities, implementing educational programs, and ensuring the well-being of each child in our care. The Lead Teacher will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experiences of toddlers and preschool-aged children. Our program has expanded to add an additional Pre-Primary (18m-3y) classroom. This position has the potential to be part-time or full time based upon scheduling needs of the school. Duties Develop and implement engaging lessons that align with early childhood Montessori education standards. Provide high-quality toddler care while promoting social, emotional, and cognitive development according to Montessori practices. Educate children through child led, play-based learning, focusing on foundational skill building. Create a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and exploration while building independence and autonomy. Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Collaborate with parents and guardians to support children's learning at home. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom setting that adheres to health and safety regulations. Mentor and support assistant teachers or aides in their professional development. Experience A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred. Previous experience in preschool or childcare settings is essential. Strong knowledge of and experience in Montessori Education. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff. Ability to create an inclusive classroom environment that respects diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
