Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a real difference this school year by supporting high school students in Science and Mathematics within a collaborative classroom environment. This contract role presents the opportunity to work closely with an engaged student population as a Special Education Teacher, focusing on resource and co-teaching models. The typical schedule runs from 7:30 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday, ensuring a consistent work-life balance.
Ideal candidates possess:
  • Active Pennsylvania Special Education Endorsement
  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing and executing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Experience supporting high school learners, preferably in resource or co-teaching settings
  • Strong collaboration skills to partner with general education teachers
  • Flexibility and creativity to adapt lessons for diverse learning needs
  • Passion for fostering success in both Science and Mathematics subjects Key responsibilities include:
  • Delivering specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs in Science and Mathematics
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers to co-plan and co-teach lessons
  • Managing and updating IEPs in compliance with state regulations
  • Tracking student progress, providing regular updates to families and staff
  • Cultivating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
