Job Description

Special Education Paraprofessional / Personal Care Assistant Help students build confidence, independence, and academic success by providing meaningful one-on-one support in the classroom. We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and student-focused professionals to support students with disabilities in school settings. This role involves providing academic, behavioral, personal care, and safety support while working closely with teachers, case managers, and other educational staff. Opportunities may be available at the elementary, middle, or high school level. Schedule Full-time school-day scheduleMonday through Friday30-minute unpaid lunch break Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students with disabilities. Assist with implementing educational and behavioral support plans developed by teachers and case managers. Support students with academic instruction, cognitive development, social skills, and daily living activities. Implement positive behavior support strategies and classroom behavior plans. Assist students with personal care needs, including toileting, hygiene, feeding, changing clothing, and positioning. Monitor student health, safety, and well-being throughout the school day. Assist with gross motor, fine motor, and physical development activities. Support students who require mobility assistance, braces, orthopedic equipment, or other adaptive supports. Help prepare students for participation in inclusive classroom settings when appropriate. Maintain accurate documentation and records related to student progress and services. Collaborate with teachers, specialists, case managers, and other school staff. Attend required trainings and professional development activities. Encourage positive social interactions and peer engagement. Perform other related duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with disabilities. Experience in special education, behavioral health, mental health, human services, caregiving, or a related field. Knowledge of positive behavior intervention and support strategies. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to provide personal care support and assist with mobility needs. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with students who have diverse learning, behavioral, physical, and developmental needs. Ability to pass all required background screenings and clearances prior to employment.
