Special Education Teacher | Morton, Pennsylvania

Job Description

Make a difference as a Special Education Teacher by supporting young learners across a network of community preschools. This contract-based position offers the opportunity to travel within the area, providing individualized support and expertise for children with special education needs. As an itinerant instructor, you'll manage a caseload of approximately 30 preschool students, visiting various community early learning sites throughout the week. Your guidance will empower students to thrive in inclusive settings, while collaborative support ensures you have the tools needed for success right from the start. The work schedule follows traditional school hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, totaling 35 hours per week.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Pennsylvania PK-4 and/or Special Education Teaching Certification (emergency permits will not be considered) Previous experience in early childhood special education or related settings preferred Comfort working independently, traveling locally to multiple preschool environments each week Strong communication skills with students, staff, and families Dedication to implementing effective instructional strategies for diverse learners
Duties & Responsibilities:
Deliver special education services to a caseload of approximately 30 preschool children in community classroom settings Adapt instruction to meet individualized education plan (IEP) goals and diverse student needs Communicate and collaborate with partner preschool staff, families, and support teams Keep accurate records of services and document student progress; contribute to meetings as needed Participate in training and ongoing professional development provided at the start of the assignment Bring your expertise and passion for inclusive education to make a meaningful impact in community preschools.
