Embark on a rewarding contract role supporting students with diverse abilities throughout Lehigh and Carbon Counties for the 20262027 school year. In this Itinerant Substitute position, youll have the unique opportunity to work across multiple specialized programs, adapting your skills to dynamic classroom settings while making a meaningful impact on student growth and development. This assignment runs from August 10, 2026, through June 11, 2027, following the local school calendar and offering a consistent 35-hour per week school-day schedule. All candidates must reside within approximately a 35-minute commute of assigned program locations.
What Were Looking For:
Active Pennsylvania Special Education certification (required/preferred by assignment) Demonstrated experience in special education classroom teaching Skilled in implementing IEP goals, delivering specialized instruction, and managing diverse learning needs Strong classroom management and behavioral support abilities Exceptional flexibility to support multiple classroom types and age groups as needs arise Collaborative spirit, able to partner with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
Preferred Experience:
Background in Autism Support, ABA-informed strategies, and communication supports Emotional Support expertise, particularly with behavioral and emotional regulation Multiple Disabilities Support and adapted curriculum/life skills instruction Experience in IU or specialized school environments As an itinerant special educator, you might cover classrooms within Enhanced Autism, Emotional Support, and Multiple Disabilities Support programs.
