In this vital role, you will create engaging lesson plans, foster inclusive classroom environments, and tailor instruction to meet individual student requirements. Your expertise will help students develop essential skills in literacy, math, communication, and social-emotional learning, ensuring they reach their full potential. Responsibilities Design and implement dynamic lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating educational technology and instructional modifications to support diverse learning styles. Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing and individualized assessments such as IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals. Manage classroom behavior effectively using behavior management strategies tailored for students with developmental disabilities or special needs. Collaborate with colleagues, specialists (such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, behavioral therapists), and parents to develop comprehensive support plans that promote student success. Adapt instructional methods for students with disabilities or unique learning needs, ensuring compliance with special education law and educational regulations. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements to foster a supportive partnership. Incorporate early childhood education principles, recreational therapy techniques, or Montessori methods as appropriate for the age group served. Skills Strong knowledge of special education practices, including IEP development, instructional modifications, and behavioral health strategies. Experience working with children with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or visual impairments in classroom settings. Proficiency in using learning technology and educational software to enhance instruction and engagement. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and students' support teams. Ability to manage classroom dynamics confidently while maintaining a positive learning environment. Familiarity with behavioral therapy techniques such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) and behavioral health principles. Knowledge of early intervention strategies for preschool or toddler-aged children; experience in childcare or preschool environments is highly valued.
