Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Take the next step in your career as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive elementary setting! This contract opportunity calls for dedicated professionals ready to make an impact with K-2 students in a vibrant and diverse community. There are two full-time positions available, both onsite, with a weekly commitment of 35 hours from 8:30 AM to 4 PM. The roles start as soon as possible and extend through June 10, 2027. Strong candidates possess proven classroom and behavioral management skills and excel at differentiating instruction to meet varied student needs. Prior experience in urban educational environments is required, and adaptability to the district's culture is key.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Active PA teaching certification or licensure to match caseload requirements Minimum of a bachelor's degree (required for emergency teaching permit) Previous experience in a school setting, preferably elementary grades Expertise in special education pedagogy and strong instructional abilities Skill in crafting engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans that incorporate ongoing assessment Excellent classroom management and behavioral intervention capabilities Experience working in urban schools and comfort within diverse communities Ability to complete all necessary Pennsylvania clearances Reliable transportation for daily onsite work Commitment to scheduled hours, with no schedule modifications permitted
