Job Description

Key Qualifications:
Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility to obtain credentials in the state Bachelors or Masters degree in Visual Impairment, Special Education, or a related field Strong understanding of Braille instruction, assistive technology, and adaptive devices Previous experience working with students who are blind or have low vision, ideally in a school environment Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with general and special education staff, families, and outside agencies Flexibility to adapt lesson plans and materials to meet individual student needs
What Youll Do:
Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students with visual impairments across grade levels Conduct assessments to determine students unique educational and adaptive needs Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and accommodations Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff Support orientation and mobility training in cooperation with certified specialists Facilitate access to the curriculum using assistive technology and tailored resources Engage families in the educational process by providing information and guidance Maintain accurate records and ongoing communication regarding student progress Youll find a supportive and mission-driven team environment, rich opportunities to contribute, and the ability to truly shape lives.
