Job Description

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Jones Elementary as an Elementary Educational Aide. In this full-time position, you will support classroom teachers in providing a positive and engaging learning environment for students in grades K-5. Your contributions will enhance student learning experiences and foster academic growth, ensuring that all students feel supported and included. Responsibilities Assist classroom teachers in preparing instructional materials and activities. Support students in their daily academic tasks, including reading, writing, and mathematics. Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring to students who require additional assistance. Monitor student behavior and provide guidance to promote a positive classroom environment. Help with classroom management and organization, including maintaining supplies and materials. Assist in the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs. Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other non-classroom activities to ensure safety and engagement. Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members regarding student progress and needs. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in education. Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or school administration. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher in education or a related field preferred. Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed academically and socially. Ability to adapt to the varying needs and learning styles of students. Basic proficiency in using educational technology and software. Must pass background checks and meet any state or district requirements for educational aides. CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
