Job Description
Overview Join our vibrant faith community as a Sunday School Teacher, where you will inspire and nurture the spiritual growth of children and youth through engaging religious education. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to lead young minds in understanding faith principles, fostering a welcoming environment, and supporting their moral development. As a vital part of our Church, you will contribute to our mission of cultivating faith, hope, and love within our community. Responsibilities Develop and deliver age-appropriate religious lessons that align with our spiritual teachings and values Create a warm, inclusive environment that encourages active participation and spiritual curiosity among children and youth Collaborate with church leadership to plan special religious events, holiday programs, and youth activities Support youth engagement initiatives by mentoring young members and providing guidance on their spiritual journeys Manage classroom activities, ensuring safety and fostering positive interactions among children Assist in volunteer management by recruiting, training, and supporting other Sunday School volunteers Incorporate elements of religious studies, Christian counseling, and pastoral theology into lesson plans to deepen understanding Requirements Proven experience working with children in educational or faith-based settings, including religious organization childcare experience or youth programs teaching experience Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with children, parents, and fellow staff members effectively Knowledge of religious teachings, pastoral theology, and youth ministry principles Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor young people Experience in event planning for religious or community activities Background in social work, mentoring, or nonprofit faith-based organization work is highly desirable Ability to handle sensitive situations such as bereavement support or hospice care when necessary Commitment to the values of our faith community and a passion for religious education and youth engagement Join us in making a meaningful difference by guiding the next generation in their spiritual development.
