This position maintains a clean, safe, and organized kitchen while ensuring proper food handling and sanitation practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to the daycare's approved menu. Follow portion sizes and age-appropriate food preparation guidelines. Prepare food safely and maintain proper food temperatures. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene requirements. Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, utensils, dishes, appliances, and food preparation areas. Wash dishes and maintain a clean and orderly kitchen throughout the day. Properly store food and check expiration dates. Monitor refrigerator and freezer temperatures as required. Maintain an accurate inventory of food and kitchen supplies. Support the Director in maintaining a safe and positive environment for children and staff. Assist with hiring, training, orienting, and supervising daycare employees as assigned. Help create and maintain staff schedules and classroom coverage. Monitor staff-to-child ratios and assist with maintaining appropriate classroom coverage. Provide support and guidance to teachers and classroom staff. Assist with addressing staff concerns, performance issues, and workplace conflicts. Help ensure classrooms are clean, organized, appropriately staffed, and operating according to center policies. Assist with enrollment, registration, attendance, and maintaining children's records. Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents and guardians. Respond to parent questions, concerns, and requests and refer matters to the Director when appropriate.
