Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Irving, Texas

Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students with visual impairments in a dynamic school environment. This full-time, onsite position offers the opportunity to work directly with a diverse group of students, providing essential educational support and promoting independence. Youll serve an itinerant caseload of 12-15 students, covering multiple campuses and engaging with both in-school and homebound learners. Collaborate with dedicated educational teams and help shape an inclusive and accessible academic experience.
Qualifications:
Active Texas State Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TSVI) certification is required Previous experience working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in educational settings preferred Skilled in adapting instructional materials and strategies for students with visual impairments Strong organizational abilities for managing a fluid caseload across multiple campuses Excellent communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, families, and support services
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments, including Braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility skills Consult regularly with general and special education staff regarding student needs and accommodations Evaluate and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress Provide services to both campus-based and homebound students, adjusting caseloads as needed throughout the school year Work closely with families, providing resources and support to enhance student learning Maintain accurate records and thorough documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines This contract offers a stimulating, supportive setting with steady hours during the academic year (7/30/26 5/28/27, Monday through Friday), and the chance to work alongside passionate educators committed to student success.
