Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching license (SPED), grades 4-8 required (EC-6th considered) Experience or demonstrated dedication to working with students in self-contained classrooms Comfort supporting mild/moderate disabilities; ability to individualize instruction Strong collaboration skills for teaming with RBTs and paraprofessionals Effective classroom management with a positive, student-centered focus
Core Responsibilities:
Plan and implement engaging lessons tailored to a small caseload of approximately 10 students Maintain a structured and supportive learning environment from 7:45am to 3:45pm, 37.5 hours weekly Work closely with 1-2 paraprofessionals consistently present throughout the day Collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff to ensure each student's educational progress Adapt and modify curriculum as needed, focusing on academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth Track progress, document interventions, and participate in IEP meetings Joining this setting means making a difference every day in a cohesive school environment that values your dedication.
