HJ STAFFING
is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to fill an immediate vacancy in an Elementary Life Skills classroom at Stafford Elementary School. This role involves leading a self-contained classroom designed for students in Grades 1-5 with moderate to severe disabilities. The ideal candidate will foster a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment tailored to each student's unique developmental, academic, and functional life skills goals.

Employment Type:
Full-Time Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 3:40 p.m. Key Responsibilities Manage and lead a self-contained Elementary Life Skills classroom (Grades 1-5). Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students with moderate to severe disabilities. Deliver modified core curriculum content while incorporating essential life skills and behavioral strategies. Collaborate with classroom paraprofessionals, therapists, administrators, and parents to support holistic student growth. Maintain complete and accurate compliance records, progress tracking, and evaluation reports.
Qualifications & Requirements Special Education Certification:
Valid Texas (EC-12) Special Education certification.
Content Certification:
Valid Texas Generalist or Core Subjects certification covering elementary grades 1-5. Proven experience working with elementary students with moderate to severe disabilities preferred. Strong classroom management, communication, and crisis-de-escalation skills. Ability to pass required state background checks and clearance procedures.
