Help transform the lives of students by embracing the opportunity to work as a Life Skills Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. You'll work full-time, on-site, in a K-3 classroom setting, supporting students with diverse needs and making meaningful contributions to their growth and independence. As part of this contract assignment, your specialized expertise will be crucial in nurturing life skills and fostering an inclusive environment.
Qualifications:
Active Utah Special Education license or certification (required) Professional experience working with K-3 students in a special education setting preferred Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and best practices for life skills instruction Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet varying student needs
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver life skills-focused instruction to elementary students in a self-contained classroom Create and implement individualized education programs tailored to student abilities and goals Maintain accurate records, report on student progress, and participate in IEP meetings Employ creative strategies and differentiated instruction to engage learners with varying abilities Collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other school staff Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom culture This is a rewarding full-time, in-person contract role running from July 28, 2026, through May 26, 2027.
