Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by guiding and supporting young learners in a K-5 self-contained classroom. This contract position offers the opportunity to collaborate in a positive school environment and empower children with special needs to reach their fullest potential. You'll provide essential instruction and foster growth using adaptive curriculum strategies, working 37.5 hours each week.
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher license with adaptive curriculum endorsement Experience working with K-5 students in self-contained classrooms preferred Strong understanding of diverse learning needs and inclusion practices Ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
Instruct and support K-5 students with varying abilities in a self-contained setting Develop curriculum and lesson plans tailored to individual student needs Implement adaptive and differentiated instructional strategies to maximize student engagement and growth Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and related service providers Track and document student progress, adjusting approaches as needed Foster a nurturing, structured, and safe learning environment for all students Communicate regularly with families regarding goals, progress, and strategies for success This role is ideal for compassionate educators who thrive in dynamic settings and are passionate about making a difference for students requiring specialized support.
