In this dynamic role, you will step into classrooms on short notice, delivering engaging lessons that align with established curricula and foster a positive learning environment. Your flexibility and strong communication skills will ensure continuity of instruction, support student success, and uphold school policies. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in diverse educational settings while developing your teaching skills across multiple subjects and age groups. Header Duties Implement lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher or develop your own based on curriculum guidelines, ensuring lessons are engaging and age-appropriate. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for all students. Adapt instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special needs such as autism or requiring literacy and math support. Utilize educational technologies and computers to enhance instruction and student engagement. Communicate regularly with students, staff, and parents to provide updates on student progress and behavior, following mandated reporting laws and school policies. Support classroom management by maintaining discipline, organizing activities, and ensuring smooth transitions between lessons. Collaborate with teachers and staff to share best practices, participate in school-wide initiatives, and contribute to a positive school culture. Header Experience Prior classroom experience in K-12 settings is highly preferred, including preschool, Montessori, and up to 12 grade school environments. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children from diverse cultural backgrounds and with varying learning needs. Experience developing curriculum development plans, lesson planning, and implementing instructional strategies across subjects such as literacy education and math. Knowledge of school policies, mandated reporting laws, and best practices for working with students with special needs or in inclusive classrooms. Proficiency in using educational technologies and computers to facilitate instruction. Strong communication skills for effective parent-teacher interactions and teamwork within a collaborative school setting.
