Job Description

Student Support Specialist Denver Street School Position Overview The Student Support Specialist plays a vital role in supporting students, families, and staff at Denver Street School. This position provides flexible assistance where needed most—offering safe childcare for infants/toddlers on campus, reliable transportation for students, and in-classroom support for teachers. The role requires compassion, responsibility, and adaptability in order to meet the diverse needs of our school community. Key Responsibilities Childcare Support Provide safe, nurturing supervision for infants and young children of students or staff during the school day. Maintain a clean, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding their child's care and needs. Student Transportation Safely transport students to and from school, activities, and appointments as assigned. Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and school transportation policies. Ensure timely and dependable pick-up and drop-off for students. Classroom & Teacher Assistance Support teachers with classroom management, supervision, and instructional needs. Assist students individually or in small groups with assignments, projects, or skill-building. Help maintain an orderly, respectful, and supportive learning environment. Occasionally subbing classes in case teacher is not available. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred. Experience working with children and/or youth in educational, childcare, or mentoring settings. Valid driver's license with clean driving record; comfortable operating a school vehicle. Reliable, flexible, and able to manage multiple responsibilities. Strong communication and relational skills with both students and staff.

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
