Job Summary:

In the absence of the regular classroom teacher, the substitute teacher is responsible for the continuation of all learning activities in the classroom. Substitute teachers are expected to effectively communicate with students and establish a positive climate and maintain classroom discipline. The position(s) will be available on an as-needed basis. The pay rate is $140.00 per day ($165.00 per day with a CT teaching certificate) with no benefits provided.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree preferred Experience working in a school system preferred Demonstrated knowledge and skill in classroom management Effective written and oral communication Ability to be flexible in work assignments The successful candidate will: Promote 21st century educational excellence through the vigorous support of the mission and goals of The Woodstock Academy; and Facilitate individual, departmental and school excellence through the support of high-quality personnel, reinforcement of best instructional practices, encouragement of a culture of collaboration, and a focus on learning.
