Substitute Teacher American Heritage Schools- Broward Campus Plantation, FL Job Details Part-time 2 hours ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree Full Job Description American Heritage Schools of Broward County is currently accepting applications for Part Time Substitutes of all levels. American Heritage School is a nationally recognized college preparatory school for students in PK3-12th grades with two campuses in South Florida. The rigorous and well-rounded curriculum includes over 300-course offerings with 133 honors classes, 29 Advanced Placement (AP) classes, a Pre-Professional Program with Pre-Med, Pre-Law, Pre-Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Business, and Computer Science, a Science Research Institute, and 75 fine arts courses. POSITION OVERVIEW
Substitute teachers will need to effectively manage and instruct the class.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute lesson plans consistent with the teacher's guidelines, and school curriculum Follow lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground, and in the cafeteria Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plan For long-term substitutes: develop lesson plans and assignments consistent with the regular teacher's past lesson plans Maintain schedule availability to accept opportunities that arise Uphold an orderly classroom environment and provide a positive learning experience Familiarize yourself with emergency protocols, such as fire drills and lockdowns Adhere to all school policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree is required
