  • Grade 4/5 Math The Out-of-Door Academy seeks a Long Term Substitute

  • Siesta Key
  • Grade 4/5 Math to join a forward-thinking school that values creativity, real-world application, and student-centered thinking. This assignment is expected to start early December and last approximately 12 weeks. Responsibilities Reporting to the Head of Lower School
  • Siesta Key, the Substitute Teacher will be responsible for the following: Assigns classwork and homework as prescribed by the teacher.
Modifies instructional style to fit the learning needs of students. Supervises students outside of the classroom, in hallways, at lunch, at recess, drop off and pick up if required. Ensures classroom instruction is handled according to the school's policies, goals, and objectives. Manages student behavior and maintains classroom order. Takes necessary and reasonable action to ensure the safety of students, materials, and school equipment. Follows instructions left for the lead teacher and ensures they are followed appropriately. Communicates regarding student progress with other educators and parents as necessary. Live the school's mission and core values of respect, integrity, service, excellence, and responsibility. Qualifications The following experience, skills & knowledge are required and /or preferred: Bachelor's Degree and teaching experience is preferred. Ability to develop rapport with students. Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrates computer literacy and proficiency. Compensation and Benefits This is a temporary, exempt position. Shift and hours may vary depending on the school's needs. The expected start date is early December 2026. At Out-of-Door, we value a diverse workforce.
