Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Assistant Teacher and GSRP (Great Start Readiness Program) substitute to join our early childhood education team. In this role, you will support classroom instruction, assist with child supervision, and help create a nurturing environment that promotes early childhood development. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with young learners, contribute to their foundational education, and collaborate with experienced educators to ensure compliance with educational standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a positive learning atmosphere, possess strong communication skills, and have experience working with children of diverse needs. Duties Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans focused on literacy, math, and social-emotional development for young children. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and maintaining a safe, inclusive environment. Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and transitions to ensure their safety at all times. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom events to foster strong home-school connections. Utilize educational technologies and computers to enhance learning experiences for students. Collaborate with teachers on lesson planning, classroom organization, and behavioral strategies aligned with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) standards. Follow all educational compliance and regulation guidelines to ensure a high-quality learning environment that meets licensing requirements. Requirements Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, especially in early childhood education or special education. Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom behavior management strategies. Familiarity with literacy education, math instruction for young learners, and classroom technology tools. Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and community partners. Certification or training in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already held. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills including proofreading of educational materials and mentoring peers when needed. Understanding of educational compliance standards such as the ESSA and familiarity with regulations governing early childhood programs. Demonstrated ability to supervise children safely while fostering a positive learning environment. Flexibility to serve as a substitute GSRP teacher across different classrooms as needed. Pay:
