Job Description

Position Title:
Substitute Teacher Terms of Employment:

Per diem, at rates established by the Superintendent and approved by the School Board.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma required Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed Ability to learn and use the sub placement system (Frontline) using an app, website, or phone Para 2 certificate preferred but not required Bachelors degree preferred but not required

Building Administrator Evaluation:

Performed annually

Job Goal:

To enable each child to pursue his/her education as smoothly and effectively as possible in the absence of his/her regular teacher.

Performance Responsibilities:

Report to the Building Administrator 15 minutes before the official opening of school Review all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day, when necessary with the Building Administrator Maintain as closely as possible, the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which he/she has been assigned. Consult with the Building Administrator before initiating any teaching or other procedures not specified in the Substitute Teacher's Guide Report in writing, on the form provided by the school secretary, on the day's activities at the conclusion of each teaching day Follow all policies, rules, and procedures to which teachers are subject and are dictated by good teaching practices Perform any other duties as assigned by the Substitute Coordinator and/or the Building Administrator.
