School Substitute St. Benedict School Amherst, NY Job Details Part-time From $16 an hour 3 hours ago Qualifications School experience Behavior management Experience working with children Working with students Teaching Full Job Description Saint Benedict School is seeking substitute teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. We welcome dependable educators who enjoy working with children, can step confidently into a classroom, and will support our school's Catholic mission. Located on Main Street in Amherst, New York, Saint Benedict School serves 440 students in Pre-K3 through eighth grade. Responsibilities include:
Follow lesson plans and classroom routines provided by the teacher. Supervise students and maintain a safe, respectful learning environment. Support students as they complete assignments and participate in classroom activities. Communicate relevant information about the school day to the classroom teacher and school administration. Work collaboratively with teachers, instructional assistants, and other school staff. Uphold Saint Benedict School's expectations for student behavior and its Catholic mission.
Qualifications:
Experience working with children in a school or similar setting preferred. Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Flexibility and the ability to work with students across a range of ages and grade levels. Commitment to supporting Catholic teachings and values. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory state and federal background checks, reference checks, completion of VIRTUS training, and all required paperwork.
Schedule and compensation:
On-call substitute position. Assignments may be available in Pre-K3 through eighth grade and may vary in length.
