Job Description

THIS IS A SUBSTITUTE POSITION. DISTRICT-WIDE

(PREK-12)

DESCRIPTION

A substitute for instructional staff. Reports to the building principal.

CHARACTERISTICS

Passionate about caring for and helping children; Effective verbal, written, and electronic communicator; Capable of integrating technology resources into curriculum and instruction; Able to maximize student effort and success both academically and socially; Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students and colleagues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Able to organize and prioritize daily schedule and duties. Manage the classroom in a positive manner and keep students engaged, on task, and collaborative; Perform any other duties as assigned by a Supervisor / Administration. Minimum one year college completed for non-certified applicants Must be fingerprinted per NYSED Procedures . Per diem substitute teachers receive $130.00 per full day (•includes teaching assistants). Limitations apply for length of employment of uncertified teachers as per the Codes, Rules and Regulations for the State of NY Title 8 CRR-NY 8-5.4.
