Job Goal:
To provide patient, compassionate, and high-quality instructional, physical, and behavioral support to K-12 students with special needs, working closely under the direction of certified special education teachers to ensure every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to learn. Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
Clearances:
Ability to successfully pass a background check, child abuse registry clearance, and fingerprinting process.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, transfer, and position students (up to 50 lbs unassisted, or heavier with assistance/equipment), stand for extended periods, and bend, kneel, or squat to interact at eye level with students. Key Attributes & Professional Competencies Heart for

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
High-Quality Student & Instructional Support Deliver high-quality, targeted support to individual students or small groups under the direct guidance and direction of the certified special education teacher. Assist in reinforcing concepts, adapting activities, and applying accommodations outlined in students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Classroom Collaboration & Directives Follow all instructional, behavioral, and routines directed by certified teachers, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, and school leadership. Assist the teacher in learning milestones. Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth. Care, Safety, & Physical Assistance Assist students with physical transitions throughout the school environment. Safely lift, move, or re-position students Assist with personal care and daily living needs with dignity, respect, and utmost care for the student. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student records in compliance with FERPA guidelines.
