This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your coaching skills while making a positive impact on young learners' lives. You will lead engaging swimming lessons, assist senior instructors, and contribute to creating a safe, fun, and motivating environment for all participants. Your enthusiasm, communication skills, and passion for sports and teaching will help shape confident swimmers and future athletes. Duties Lead engaging swim lessons tailored to various ages (3.5 and up), skill levels, emphasizing water safety, stroke technique, and confidence-building, while creating a fun and nurturing environment. Attend required training to ensure consistent teaching methodology. Assist lead instructors in setting up equipment, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed. Support swimmers in developing proper swimming techniques through clear instructions and positive reinforcement. Maintain a safe environment by monitoring pool areas, performing water safety checks, and responding promptly to emergencies. Communicate effectively with clients—parents, guardians, and participants—regarding progress and safety guideliness Manage behavior effectively by implementing positive behavior management strategies to foster respectful and focused class environments. Support lead coaches with pre-competitive and/or competitive groups (ages 5 to 18) during weekday/evening practices as needed. Qualifications and Requirements Previous experience in one of the following is required: teaching swim lessons to young children, competitive swim experience, or coaching youth swimming or other sports. Current certifications in CPR/AED and First Aid (or willingness to obtain within 30 days). Strong passion for youth athletics, patience, and enthusiastic communication skills across all age groups (3.5 to 18). Reliability to consistently work the mandatory weekend shift (Saturdays and/or Sundays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM). Additional weekday afternoon/evening availability is preferred but not mandatory. Pay:
$20.00 - $28.00 per hour
