Happa Baby School is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and knowledgeable Part-Time Behavior Specialist / Special Education Support Teacher to support preschool-aged children with developmental, learning, communication, and behavioral needs. We are looking for someone with appropriate professional credentials and hands-on experience working with young children with special needs , including children who are neurodivergent, have developmental or learning differences, communication challenges, or behavioral difficulties. This position will provide direct support to children while also working closely with classroom teachers and school administration to develop practical strategies that can be consistently implemented throughout the school day. Responsibilities Provide individualized and small-group support for preschool-aged children with developmental, learning, communication, and behavioral needs Observe children in the classroom and identify areas where additional support may be beneficial Develop, recommend, and/or implement individualized behavior and learning strategies Support children with emotional regulation, communication, social skills, transitions, classroom routines, and peer interactions Help children develop appropriate replacement behaviors and increase independence Collaborate with classroom teachers to create consistent and developmentally appropriate strategies Coach and support teachers in responding effectively to challenging behaviors Help teachers understand the underlying needs or possible functions behind children's behaviors Monitor children's progress and provide feedback to the teaching team Maintain appropriate documentation of observations, strategies, and progress Communicate professionally with school leadership and, when appropriate, families and outside service providers Promote an inclusive classroom environment where every child is supported, respected, and given opportunities to succeed What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who can look beyond the behavior and understand what the child is communicating through that behavior . We are looking for a professional who can work hands-on with children while also helping our teachers better understand how to support individual children's needs. The ability to build trusting relationships with young children and collaborate respectfully with teachers is essential. Schedule Part-Time or Contractor Schedule and hours can be discussed based on the candidate's availability and the needs of the program. Pay:

$35.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 10.0 per week

Education:

Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

working with preschoolers: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

BCBA, BCaBA, RBT, or other relevant certification (Required)
