The position is year-round, including summer and break camps. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. Pay ranges from $20 to $23 per hour, depending on PDIS qualification level. Boulder Valley Waldorf School is a licensed child care center. Candidates must be ECT certified according to Colorado state requirements. CPR, First Aid, Universal Precautions, and Medication Administration trainings are required (can be completed after hire). The assistant teacher will work under the lead teacher to assist with all Waldorf preschool programming and curriculum activities, including circle time, birthday celebrations, festivals, and clean-up. The assistant teacher will oversee children on the playground and help with transitions, including supporting transitions to the extended care program. They will help prepare the classroom, materials, and playground daily, maintain order and aesthetics in the classroom and main kitchen. Teachers will follow the cleaning checklist and maintain a warm, nurturing environment along with cleanliness and orderliness in the classroom. Founded in 1993, Boulder Valley Waldorf School serves students from Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. We are a full WECAN member and are a Developing School working toward AWSNA membership. Assist during all Waldorf programming, curriculum activities; circle time, birthday celebrations, festivals, and clean-up
Oversee children on the playground and assist with the transitions at drop off and to/from outside
Assist with transitions to aftercare
Help with daily preparations of classroom, materials, and playground
Maintain general order and aesthetics in classroom and main kitchen
Prepare and serve the daily snacks followed by cleanup
Prepare for and attend Open Houses when requested
Support festival celebrations in conjunction with Grades School
Substitute for lead teachers as needed Health and Safety
Maintain student/teacher ratio
Follow all rules and regulations as per EC Licensing This includes, but is not limited to, classroom cleaning according to Health Department Standards, ie 3 Step Cleaning, laundering, sanitizing and disinfecting toys, sleeping mats, etc., sweeping, vacuuming
Providing first aid as necessary
Be knowledgeable about campus Emergency Plan and able to implement
Stay current on PDIS trainings, CPR/First Aid trainings Classroom and Facilities
Maintain a warm and nurturing environment, in addition to general order, cleanliness and aesthetics in classroom
Participate in annual work days to prepare the classroom and playground
Assist with seasonal transitions and classroom organizing/cleaning
Maintain orderly storage area
Follow cleaning checklist and sign off on checklist daily (or as required)
Follow laundry schedule to make sure all laundry gets done weekly Meetings
Attend EC Monthly Meetings
Attend EC Professional Development trainings
Attend weekly/biweekly check in meetings with Lead Teacher either before or after school Record Keeping and Administrative Tasks
Use time clock to log work hours appropriately
Maintain daily attendance sheets if requested
Complete, acquire signatures and file Accident/Incident Reports as necessary
Request time off 2 weeks prior to time off whenever possible
Check in with lead teacher and director about any days you may need to leave earlier than your scheduled shift
