Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young learners as a paraprofessional in a dynamic educational environment near Westport, CT. This onsite, full-time role focuses on working within self-contained ASD classrooms, specifically serving Kindergarten through 3rd grade students. With multiple openings for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year, this position provides the chance to make a meaningful impact while collaborating with a dedicated and caring team.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Connecticut Paraprofessional Certification Previous experience in self-contained or special education environments preferred Comfort and willingness to assist with toileting and self-care support Strong communication and teamwork skills Compassion, patience, and adaptability when working with students with
Autism Spectrum Disorders Responsibilities:
Provide direct classroom assistance to lead teachers, supporting students academic and social development Assist with implementing individualized education plans and behavior strategies Engage with students during various classroom activities, fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of all students, including assistance with toileting and daily living skills as needed Document progress, reinforce learning objectives, and maintain a positive and encouraging attitude Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and related service providers Enjoy a structured workweek while making a difference in the lives of children and families.
