Coastal Hope Academy is seeking a dedicated, professional Lead Teacher to join our team. We provide a high-quality, play-based learning environment for children from infancy through school age. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for classroom management, implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, and fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for your students.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and execute daily lessons and activities that support child-led, play-based learning. Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and organized classroom environment that meets state licensing and hygiene standards. Observe and assess student development, maintaining accurate records and progress reports. Communicate effectively and professionally with parents regarding their child's daily routines, milestones, and behaviors. Supervise and mentor assistant teachers working within your classroom. Ensure full compliance with all state and local childcare licensing regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required (DCF 45-hour introductory training completed or in progress). CDA (Child Development Associate) or a degree in Early Childhood Education/related field is highly preferred. Proven experience working as a lead or assistant teacher in a licensed childcare facility. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to pass a Level 2 background screening and drug test. CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.

Pay:
$15.00 - $17.50 per hour
License/Certification:
Child Development Associate Certification (Required)
