ASAP Salary/Benefits:
$19.25 per hour. Eligible for health insurance. Paid holidays, sick, and personal leave. (180-day contract)

Full-time Permanent Job Qualifications:
Must have (or be eligible for) a Paraprofessional license issued by the Illinois State Board of Education. Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to communicate with students in the classroom through the use of Total Communication (signed, oral, auditory, written and visual aids, depending on the particular needs and abilities of the person).
Duties:
The D/HH Paraprofessional, under the supervision of the head teacher, will provide assistance to the classroom teacher, performing a variety of tasks relating to the physical and instructional needs of the students; assist with implementing instruction, including self-help as well as behavior management. The paraprofessional is expected to establish and maintain effective, appropriate working relationships with students, parents, and staff. The position calls upon the paraprofessional to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and discretion in performance of duties.
