Every member of our team is a valuable resource in this pursuit of excellence, and we are currently seeking an ISS (in school suspension) Paraprofessional at DeKalb High School!

What your day will look like:
  • Under supervision, you will assist with a variety of instructional activities; assisting in the conduct of student learning experiences; performing routine clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel, and other related work as required, including:
  • Assisting individual students to reinforce and follow up on learning activities.
  • Monitoring and assisting students in practice, and study activities as a follow-up to the presentation of instructional concepts by instructional personnel.
  • Directing students to safe learning activities and functions.
  • Assisting in the management of student behavior through the use of positive strategies and techniques.
  • Preparing and assisting in the preparation of a variety of instructional materials and learning aids for use with individual students.
  • Maintaining a variety of records and files, including confidential student records and information.
  • Maintaining student record confidentiality.
  • Assisting in maintaining an orderly, attractive, and positive learning environment.

This position will be 34.75 hours per week.

You are familiar with routine record management, storage, and retrieval systems and procedures. You can demonstrate an understanding, patient, and receptive attitude toward students.

You have excellent communication skills.

You can perform routine clerical tasks and operate a variety of educational and office related machines and equipment.

You have the ability to learn to utilize a variety of appropriate instructional materials and procedures in the enhancement of a positive educational environment.

You understand appropriate English usage, punctuation, spelling and grammar, and basic math concepts.

You can establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
