Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Daycare Assistant Teacher / Float to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will provide essential support across multiple classrooms, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children of various ages. Your flexible presence as a float teacher will help maintain continuity in daily activities, assist with classroom management, and promote positive developmental experiences. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners while gaining valuable experience in early childhood education. Responsibilities Support lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development Supervise children during playtime, meals, nap times, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and proper behavior management Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, and organization to create an inviting learning environment Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's daily experiences and developmental progress Follow all safety protocols including pediatric first aid and CPR procedures to respond promptly to emergencies Collaborate with team members to plan and execute educational activities aligned with developmental milestones Serve as a flexible float across classrooms to provide coverage during staff breaks or absences, ensuring continuous supervision and support Requirements Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood settings is highly preferred Knowledge of child development instruction and classroom management techniques Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is a plus Strong communication skills for effective parent interactions and team collaboration Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining patience and positive attitude Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and well-being Childcare or daycare center experience is desirable; previous nannying or babysitting roles are also valuable Commitment to creating a nurturing environment that promotes childhood development through engaging activities Join our team where your passion for early childhood education can flourish!
