Job Description:
The Education Assistant provides direct support to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the educational setting. Working under the direction of the Classroom Teacher, the Education Assistant supports students with educational, behavioral, daily living, and leisure activities while helping create a safe and positive learning environment.

Lower Shore School Calendar Essential Duties:
Provide 1:1 and group support to students based on individualized educational and behavioral plans. Assist with implementing instructional strategies, IEP goals, behavior interventions, communication systems, and sensory supports. Collect and maintain accurate student-specific data and documentation. Assist students with personal care needs, including toileting, hygiene, lifting, and transitions. Supervise students in classrooms, community outings, hallways, recreational areas, and other school settings. Follow individualized student plans and behavioral strategies consistently. Maintain a safe, organized, and positive learning environment. Serve as a positive role model and demonstrate Benedictine's core values. Attend required trainings, meetings, and professional development. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's degree or successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment preferred. Experience working with youth with developmental disabilities preferred. Must be at least 21 years old. Must pass required drug screening, criminal background checks, and CPS clearance. Must successfully complete and maintain required trainings and certifications. Must be able to perform required physical and behavioral interventions and lift or push up to 30 pounds. Must support and demonstrate commitment to Benedictine's mission and values.
