Ocean House on the Farm is hiring! We're looking for one Assistant Teacher and one Floating Teacher to join our warm, fun, and supportive team in Cape Elizabeth. We have both full-time and part-time schedules available, Monday through Friday , with pay ranging from $18-$22 per hour , depending on the position, experience, and qualifications. If your ideal workday includes little learners, big imaginations, outdoor adventures, story time, finger paint, and plenty of laughs along the way, you may be just who we're looking for! Assistant Teacher Our Assistant Teacher will spend most of their time in one classroom, working alongside the Lead Teacher and becoming a familiar, consistent part of the children's day. You'll help create a classroom where children feel safe, cared for, and excited to learn and play. From art projects and dance parties to snack time and getting everyone bundled up for the playground, you'll be part of all the little moments that make early childhood so special. Floating Teacher Like a little variety in your day? Our Floating Teacher gets to experience a bit of everything! You'll support multiple classrooms throughout the center, working with children from infancy through preschool. One part of your day might include baby giggles and bottles, while another could involve building block towers, reading stories, or heading outside for an adventure. This position is perfect for someone who is flexible, enjoys different age groups, and is happy to jump in wherever an extra set of caring hands is needed. What Your Days Might Include Building warm, positive relationships with children and families Helping create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment Joining in on art projects, stories, music, sensory play, outdoor adventures, and more Assisting with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, and daily routines Supporting Lead Teachers and working together as a team Helping classrooms maintain required teacher-to-child ratios Comforting a little one who needs a hug, celebrating big milestones, and cheering on all the small victories in between Bringing a positive attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to jump in and help Who We'd Love to Meet Someone who genuinely enjoys spending their days with young children Previous experience working with children is preferred Someone reliable, caring, patient, and team-oriented A strong communicator who enjoys working alongside others Someone willing to learn, grow, and occasionally embrace a little mess Someone who understands that some of the best days involve muddy shoes, paint-covered fingers, and lots of laughter Perks & Benefits $18-$22/hour Paid federal holidays Paid day off during your birth month Two fully paid closure weeks — the week of July 4th and Christmas week Earn up to 40 hours of sick/PTO each year Opportunity to earn an additional week of PTO through completed trainings
