Full-Time (32 hours/week)
Non-Exempt Wage:
$16.50-19.00/hr

Executive Director
POSITION SUMMARY
Great River Arts seeks a creative, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Program Assistant to support the planning, coordination, and implementation of arts programming, events, exhibitions, and educational opportunities. This position plays a key role in advancing the organization's mission by working collaboratively with artists, volunteers, committee members, and community partners..
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Program & Event Coordination (30%) Coordinate and support arts programming, educational classes, workshops, performances, and special events. Recruit and communicate with artists, instructors, and community partners. Manage event logistics, scheduling, and facility coordination. Assist with event setup, execution, and breakdown. Ensure programs align with organizational goals and community interests. Ensure the building is presentable for the daily events. Visual Arts Coordination (30%) Coordinate gallery exhibitions and installations with exhibiting artists. Manage exhibition schedules and related communications Support visual arts programming and participates in Visual Arts Committee meetings and plans Assist with exhibition receptions and special gallery events. Communications & Marketing (15%) Create and maintain content for the GRA website, newsletters, social media platforms, and promotional materials. Assist with marketing campaigns for events, classes, and exhibitions. Prepares retail vendor updates and recruits new sellers. V olunteer, Contract Artists & Committee Support (15%) Assist in recruiting, scheduling, and supporting volunteers and contract artists. Provide administrative support for organizational committees.
Committees:
Live Performances. Theatre. Arts Education/Classes. Visual Arts. Prepare meeting materials and maintain records as needed. Administrative Support (10%) Attends front-of-the-house tasks; greeting guests and answering event inquiries in person, by email or by phone. Assists with event purchases and sales in retail space. Takes inventory and conducts rotation of consignment space items. Maintains program records, registrations, and event documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Must be 21+ High school diploma or GED Minimum one year of experience in arts administration, education, event planning, customer service, nonprofit operations, or related field Availability to work evenings and weekends based on event schedules Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online communication platforms Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Preferred Associate's degree or higher in arts administration, communications, marketing, education, nonprofit management, or a related field. Experience working with volunteers, artists, or community organizations Knowledge of social media marketing and content creation. Interest in and appreciation for the arts Graphics arts background Physical Requirements & Desired Characteristics Ability to lift and carry materials up to 40 pounds Comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds Passionate about community engagement and the arts Detail oriented and dependable Collaborative and strong problem-solving abilities.
