Support Staff Monaco Success Academy | Calhoun, MO About Monaco Success Academy Monaco Success Academy is a specialized school focused on providing individualized academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students. Our team works collaboratively to create a safe, structured, and supportive environment where students can build skills and work toward success in their school and community. We are looking for a Support Staff member who is patient, dependable, flexible, and passionate about helping students succeed. Position Summary Support Staff play an important role in the day-to-day operation of our classrooms and school. This position works closely with classroom teachers and the director team to provide direct academic and behavioral support, assist with classroom activities, collect student data, and help maintain a safe and positive learning environment. Because our students may present with significant behavioral challenges, all Support Staff are required to complete and maintain training in approved crisis-management and safety techniques. Staff may be expected to implement trained crisis-management procedures when necessary to maintain the safety of students and staff. Responsibilities Student Support Provide direct academic and behavioral support to students under the supervision of classroom teachers and the director team. Assist with one-on-one and small-group instructional activities. Implement accommodations and modifications outlined in students' IEPs. Collect data related to student academic progress and behavior. Communicate student observations and concerns to classroom teachers and appropriate staff. Supervise students throughout the school day, including in classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, playground, arrival, and dismissal. Promote a positive, inclusive, structured, and safe learning environment. Assist students with personal care, mobility, or other individual needs as required. Help students develop appropriate social, communication, academic, and independent-living skills. Respond appropriately to behavioral challenges using school-approved de-escalation and crisis-management procedures. Maintain student and staff safety during behavioral incidents and follow established crisis and safety protocols. Classroom & School Support Assist teachers with preparation and organization of instructional materials. Help maintain clean, organized, and functional classrooms and common areas. Support implementation of school-wide rules, policies, procedures, and behavior expectations. Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school-wide activities. Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other support professionals. Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when working with students and families. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who: Enjoys working with children and adolescents. Is patient, compassionate, and able to remain calm in challenging situations. Can follow individualized student plans and staff direction. Is dependable, punctual, and willing to be flexible. Works well as part of a team. Is comfortable supporting students with behavioral and/or developmental needs. Is willing and able to work with students who may display challenging or unsafe behaviors. Is willing to complete required crisis-management and safety training. Can safely and appropriately implement trained crisis-management techniques when necessary. Has strong communication and organizational skills. Is willing to learn and participate in ongoing professional development. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience working with children, students with disabilities, behavioral needs, special education, or related populations is preferred but not required. Successful completion of required crisis-management and safety training is required. Training will be provided by Monaco Success Academy if the candidate is not currently certified in the school's approved crisis-management system. Ability to pass required background checks and meet school employment requirements. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including assisting students as needed and safely responding to behavioral situations. Ability to maintain composure and follow established safety procedures during challenging or crisis situations.
Pay:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
