• This is a full time position

•The Assistant Teacher supports the Classroom Teacher by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the students. Assist in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education in the Prek and Preschool classrooms. The Assistant Teacher must be able to communicate, actively listen, and work well with others in a team environment. The Assistant Teacher supports and develops positive relationships with children and families and is also responsible for assisting with developmentally appropriate activities based on the children's interests and needs under the direction of the Class Teacher.

Job Specifications:

A High School diploma and college credits or professional experience with children are required. NJ Department of Education criminal history clearance Experience in a school setting. Ability to lift and carry children for short periods and to effectively communicate and actively participate in all experiences of the particular age group, i.e., sit, crawl, stoop, run, climb, jump, dance, etc. Able to oversee and support young children's academic learning Ability to physically and mentally react appropriately and immediately to the diverse and unexpected situations that arise in early childhood education.
