10/15/2026 About KAFPE Kreative Arts Foundation of Promise & Empowerment Inc. (KAFPE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to expanding access to meaningful, high-quality arts education and creating spaces where young people are encouraged to discover their talents, build confidence, and recognize the possibilities within themselves. At KAFPE, we believe the arts are about far more than learning how to perform. Arts education can strengthen confidence, discipline, communication, creativity, teamwork, leadership, and self-expression—skills that students carry with them well beyond the classroom. Through our Performing Arts Aftercare Program, Summer Arts Camps, student showcases, family engagement opportunities, and community programming, KAFPE brings comprehensive arts experiences directly into the communities and schools we serve. Students can explore and develop in Musical Theatre, Dance, Acting, Vocal Performance, Cheerleading, Gymnastics, Instrumental Music, Visual Arts, and Media Arts. Our approach is centered on the whole student. We strive to create safe, welcoming, and encouraging environments where children of different ages, backgrounds, abilities, and experience levels can discover new interests, develop their individual strengths, and feel a genuine sense of belonging. As KAFPE continues to grow through partnerships with schools and communities throughout New Jersey, we are building a team of educators, artists, mentors, and leaders who believe deeply in the impact that consistent access to the arts can have on a young person's life. For our team, this is more than teaching an art form—it is an opportunity to help a child discover their voice, their confidence, their creativity, and what they are capable of becoming. Position Summary KAFPE is seeking creative, dependable, and passionate Assistant Instructors to teach and support students within our school-based arts programs. Assistant Instructors are active members of KAFPE's instructional team and will be responsible for leading and teaching their own assigned groups of students throughout the program day. Depending on the program structure and specialty, Assistant Instructors may independently lead activities, skill-building sessions, rehearsals, or small-group instruction while maintaining responsibility for the engagement, supervision, and overall experience of the students assigned to them. Assistant Instructors work closely with the Lead Instructor, who provides the overall curriculum, weekly lesson plans, creative direction, and leadership for the instructional team. Assistants help bring that direction to life by teaching material, reinforcing skills, supporting showcase preparation, and adapting their approach to the needs of the students in their group. This is a hands-on teaching position and a great opportunity for someone with a background in the performing or creative arts who is ready to take ownership of a group of young artists while continuing to develop as an artist, educator, and mentor. Key Responsibilities Lead & Teach Your Student Group Take responsibility for an assigned group of students, providing active instruction, supervision, encouragement, and support throughout program activities. Lead engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities based on the curriculum and weekly plans established by the Lead Instructor. Teach, demonstrate, and reinforce skills within your artistic area(s) while helping students progress at different ages and experience levels. Build positive relationships with students and create an environment where they feel comfortable participating, creating, learning, and expressing themselves. Support Curriculum & Student Development Work closely with the Lead Instructor to understand weekly learning goals, curriculum expectations, and what students should be working toward throughout the program season. Reinforce material and provide additional practice, coaching, or individualized support when students need it. Help students strengthen their artistic abilities while developing confidence, creativity, teamwork, discipline, and self-expression. Share observations, student progress, challenges, and ideas with the Lead Instructor so the instructional team can best support each group. Classroom Leadership & Student Safety Maintain an organized, welcoming, engaging, and safe environment for the students assigned to your care. Maintain awareness of student participation, behavior, attendance, transitions, and whereabouts throughout program hours. Support positive classroom expectations and appropriately address day-to-day student needs or concerns. Communicate important student, safety, behavioral, or program concerns to the Lead Instructor and/or Program Manager. Showcases & Creative Development Help students learn, practice, and strengthen the songs, dances, choreography, scenes, routines, musical pieces, artwork, media projects, or other material selected for their group. Lead practice and rehearsal activities with assigned students and help prepare them to confidently participate in KAFPE's seasonal showcases. Work collaboratively with the Lead Instructor and fellow team members throughout showcase preparation and support related materials, costumes, props, music, equipment, or student needs when applicable. Be an Active Part of

Work collaboratively with the Program Manager and fellow team members to maintain a strong and consistent experience across KAFPE programs. Bring creativity, ideas, solutions, and a positive attitude to the team as KAFPE continues to grow and expand its impact. Comfortable independently leading and supervising an assigned group of students while working as part of a larger instructional team. Ability to confidently demonstrate and help teach skills within your artistic area(s). Consistent availability for assigned program hours and required trainings, performances, showcases, and designated program events. State and federal criminal history background screening Fingerprinting Applicable child-safety and child-protection record checks Sex offender registry screening Identity and employment eligibility verification Any additional clearances required by KAFPE, our partner school districts, or applicable New Jersey program requirements KAFPE will provide selected candidates with information and guidance regarding the required clearance process during onboarding. What We're Looking For If performing or creative arts have always been your passion, KAFPE may be the place for you. Whether your experience began through dance, theatre, vocal performance, music, cheer, gymnastics, visual arts, media arts, or another creative path in high school, college, community programs, studios, or beyond—we believe those talents can grow into something more. At KAFPE, your passion doesn't have to remain something you used to do or only pursue on the side. We're building a family of artists, educators, mentors, and creative professionals where you can use your talents to inspire the next generation while continuing to develop your own craft, leadership, and career in the arts. Our Instructors are artists, educators, mentors, and team leaders who know how to make students feel excited to walk into class, comfortable enough to express themselves, and proud of what they're learning to accomplish. We're looking for someone who can lead with both confidence and compassion—someone who loves their craft, enjoys supporting fellow team members, and believes in the impact that arts education can have on a young person's life. If you're ready to turn your passion into purpose, and that sounds like you, we'd love to learn more about you and the creativity you'll bring to KAFPE. Equal Employment Opportunity KAFPE is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive workplace. We welcome qualified applicants from diverse backgrounds and experiences and consider candidates in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
