TA Certification Experience working with children,preferably in an educational or special needs setting. Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills. Physical ability to support students with mobility or self-care tasks.

Position:

Full-time and Part-Time positions available Guilderland Central School District is seeking a full-time dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support instruction and daily routines in an elementary classroom or self-contained elementary classroom. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a certified teacher to assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), supporting student learning, behavior, and personal care needs, and creating a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the lead teacher in planning and delivering instructional activities tailored to students' developmental and educational needs. Provide one-on-one or small group support to reinforce learning, monitor progress, and ensure engagement.

Assist in the implementation of IEPs, behavior intervention plans (BIPs), and accommodations or modifications as directed.

Monitor student behavior and provide positive behavioral supports to maintain a respectful and orderly classroom environment.

Support students with daily living skills, including toileting, feeding, dressing, and mobility, as needed.

Prepare and organize instructional materials, classroom displays, and learning centers.

Assist with the supervision of students during recess, lunch, transitions, and other non-classroom activities.

Maintain accurate records related to student progress, behavior incidents, and daily notes as directed.

Collaborate effectively with teachers, specialists, therapists, and parents to promote student success.

Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions as required. Selected candidates will be contacted for interviews. Job Category
