Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Teacher Assistant to join our educational team and support the learning and development of students with diverse needs. Responsibilities Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and early childhood education activities. Provide physical assistance and behavioral support to students with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities. Support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) by helping them access learning materials and participate fully in classroom activities. Use effective behavior management techniques to promote positive conduct and address behavioral disorders supportively. Incorporate American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods to facilitate effective communication for students with communication challenges. Collaborate with other professionals such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and counselors to develop comprehensive support strategies. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive student information while documenting progress and behavior incidents accurately. Experience Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Experience supporting students with special education needs, including those with autism spectrum disorders or behavioral disorders. Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies tailored for students with disabilities. Background working within private school environments or similar educational institutions is advantageous. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal skills, writing skills, and alternative communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL). Proven ability to handle confidential information responsibly while providing physical assistance as needed for students' safety and comfort.
