Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated AM Montessori Assistant Teacher for our PM Preschool program to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will support the lead teacher in creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for young learners. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help foster a love of learning, promote social-emotional growth, and ensure each child's individual needs are met. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic Montessori setting that emphasizes hands-on learning, independence, and respect for each child's unique developmental journey. Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher in implementing Montessori curriculum and lesson plans that promote literacy, math, physical education, and overall childhood development. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and guiding children through daily routines with patience and consistency. Engage children in age-appropriate activities that develop fine motor skills, social skills, and cognitive abilities aligned with early childhood education standards. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety regulations, including first aid and CPR protocols. Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones to foster strong home-school connections. Support special education and early intervention strategies to meet diverse learning needs within the classroom. Collaborate with team members to plan lessons that incorporate curriculum development principles such as childhood development instruction and standardized testing preparation when appropriate. Skills Demonstrated experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, including classroom experience with toddlers or young learners. Strong knowledge of early childhood education practices, including Montessori methods, behavior management, and classroom management techniques. Familiarity with child welfare policies, mandated reporting laws, and health & safety standards such as first aid and CPR certification. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, staff, and community partners. Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical education activities, and other core subjects. Experience supporting children with special needs or in early intervention programs is highly desirable. Passion for fostering child development through tutoring, childhood development instruction, and personalized learning approaches. Pay:
$16.00 - $19.00 per hour
