Job Description

Candidate must be local to Columbus, Ohio for consideration.

MUST HAVE

Valid Driver's License. Vehicle or Reliable Transportation. ASL

•American Sign Language (OSD Only) Available to work on an ON-Call, Emergency, Temporary, and/or Subsitute ONLY basis.

Essential Functions:

Assisting PreK-12 blind/deaf children and teachers in executing programs focused on academics, vocational, independent living, transitional and social growth. Redirecting students when difficulties arise. Supervising students in classroom cafeteria, hallways, playground, restroom. Assisting students on/off transportation vehicles. Escorting students to different areas of the school. Assisting in emergency situations. Assisting students with emotional, physical and personal needs. Assisting in other day to day general tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

1-3 years as a Home Healthcare Aide or Classroom Student Aide experience. Degree in Early Childhood Education or Special Education preferred. Experience working with autistic or MD children preferred. Ability to lift 30-100 pounds. Ability to ergonomically perform navigational task with student (push, pull, lift). Ability to clear federal background check and drug screen. CPI Certification Preferred. CPR Certification Preferred. ASL American Sign Language skills

$19.00

•$20.00 per hour
