QUALIFICATIONS

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Prepares for classroom activities under supervision of certified teacher.

2. Performs clerical duties for assigned teacher.

3. Assists teacher with instructional classroom duties.

4. Assists the students in physical/academic environments outside the classroom when applicable.

5. Grades papers, helps with records when called upon to do so.

6. Assists with an individual child's particular needs when called upon to do so.

7. Maintains all confidentially requirements for students.

8. Works cooperatively with the special education teacher/general education teacher in the

implementation of the instructional program.

9. Works to help children develop positive feelings about themselves and school.

10. Serves as model in developing children's language and behavior.

11. Assists in preparing for instruction by collecting and arranging resource materials, preparing

visual and other teaching aids, arranging field trips, etc.

12. Provides instructional support by maintaining records, scoring, processing and distributing books

and supplies, collecting money and/or cleaning and storing materials.

13. Assists a substitute teacher in the same manner that the regular teacher would be assisted.

14. Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities and/or self-selected

professional growth activities.

15. Abides by all district, state and federal laws, policies and procedures.

16. Performs such other tasks as may be assigned by supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to routinely and continually bend, squat, stand, walk, or climb stairs.

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Ability to do outside duties in inclement weather.

Ability to support and stabilize students with physical disabilities.
